Pedestrian Bridge at 21st

The pedestrian bridge at 21st Street spans the Arkansas River as a dedicated walking and cycling connection between the east-bank River Parks trail and the west-bank Turkey Mountain trails. It's one of the few spots in town where you can stand mid-river, no cars, and take in the full sweep of the downtown skyline framed against the water below.

This is a working piece of Tulsa's trail network, not a scenic overlook you drive to. Cyclists use it to link the paved River Parks paths with the singletrack at Turkey Mountain. Runners fold it into loops along the river. Dog walkers, stroller pushers, and folks just out for air all share the deck. On weekend mornings it gets busy in a friendly, nod-as-you-pass way, especially when the weather turns.

What makes it matter locally is the connection itself — before this crossing, getting from the east bank to Turkey Mountain meant a car trip. Now the two sides of the river function as one continuous outdoor space. It's also the go-to sunset photo spot in Tulsa, with the skyline lighting up to the north and the river carrying the reflection. Expect to see phones out and the occasional engagement shoot in progress.
