Gathering Place Boathouse

Tucked along the south shore of the pond at Gathering Place, the Boathouse is where you go when walking the park isn't quite enough and you want to actually get on the water. Kayaks, paddleboards, and pedal boats are available for hourly rental, and the pond itself stays calm enough that first-timers can find their footing without much drama — no current, no wake, just a contained loop of water with the park unfolding around you.

This isn't a destination boathouse in the Zink Lake sense — you're not paddling the Arkansas River or covering distance. It's a short, self-contained experience that pairs well with the rest of a Gathering Place afternoon. Families cycle through in an hour, couples take out a pedal boat between lunch at the Boathouse restaurant upstairs and a walk through the adventure playground, and solo paddlers use it as a low-effort break from the usual river trail routine. The staff walks you through the basics before you push off, which matters if you've never balanced on a paddleboard before.

Because the pond sits inside one of the busiest parks in Tulsa, expect a wait on nice weekends, especially in spring and early fall when the weather cooperates. Weekday mornings and later afternoons are noticeably quieter. Bring sunscreen — there's very little shade on the water.
