This is where the Brookside strip meets the river — a paved on-ramp to the River Parks trail system at 36th Street that turns a lunch or coffee run on Peoria into a walk, jog, or ride along the Arkansas. The trailhead itself is unremarkable in the best way: parking, water fountains, and you're on the path in under a minute.
From here you can head north toward downtown or south past 41st and 51st, with river views on one side and the Brookside backdrop on the other. It's one of the more useful access points on the whole system because you can pair the trail with everything Brookside already offers — grab food or coffee before or after, and you don't have to drive anywhere else to make an afternoon of it.
Expect a mix of use: cyclists moving through, runners logging miles, dog walkers, families with strollers. Weekday mornings and evenings after work tend to be the busiest windows. The paved surface is stroller- and road-bike-friendly, and the connection points let you build any distance you want, from a short loop to a long ride down to Turkey Mountain crossings or up toward the pedestrian bridge.
