Guthrie Green

Guthrie Green is the green heart of the Tulsa Arts District — a full city block of manicured lawn wedged between Guthrie Avenue and the surrounding cluster of museums, galleries, and restaurants that define this stretch of downtown. It functions as the district's front yard, the place people spill onto after leaving Philbrook Downtown, Tulsa Ballet's studios, or a show at nearby venues.

The park is anchored by a performance pavilion that hosts free concerts, outdoor yoga, and film screenings during the warmer months, plus a splash pad that becomes essential neighborhood infrastructure once Tulsa summer sets in. Food trucks rotate along the edges, string lights come on at dusk, and the lawn tends to fill up with a mix of families, downtown residents from the surrounding lofts, and people cutting through on their way somewhere else in the district.

What makes it work is how naturally it fits into the rhythm of the neighborhood. You can pair a visit with coffee across the street, a wander through the Woody Guthrie Center or Bob Dylan Center a block away, or dinner at one of the district's restaurants. It's rarely a destination on its own — it's the connective tissue that makes the Arts District feel like a walkable neighborhood rather than a collection of separate stops.
