Cherry Street Classic Car Show

at 9:00 AM

Once a year, Cherry Street trades its usual weekend foot traffic for chrome and candy paint. The Classic Car Show takes over a stretch of 15th Street, lining the curbs in front of Lucky's, Andolini's, and the boutiques between Peoria and Utica with restored muscle cars, hot rods, lowriders, and the occasional oddball project car someone's been wrenching on in their garage for a decade. It's one of the better-staged shows in town simply because of the setting — Cherry Street is already walkable, already shaded by mature trees, and already built for browsing, so wandering between a '67 Mustang and a '55 Bel Air feels less like a parking-lot show and more like a block party with horsepower.

You'll get a mix of serious collectors who'll happily explain every numbers-matching detail and weekend hobbyists who just want you to appreciate the flake in their paint. Bring the kids — there's always a few owners who'll pop a hood for a curious nine-year-old. And since you're already on 15th, plan to make a half-day of it: coffee at the start, lunch on a patio, and maybe a stop at Dwelling Spaces or Ida Red on the way back to your car.

Details & Logistics

Saturday, May 17, 2026, 9 AM–2 PM along 15th Street through the Cherry Street district. Spectators are free; day-of vehicle registration is $15. People's Choice awards, plus restaurant specials at participating spots along the strip.

Parking gets tight fast — your best bet is the side streets north and south of 15th (try the residential blocks around Trenton or Quincy), or park near Utica Square and walk over. Wear a hat; the 15th Street corridor has shade but the asphalt radiates by late morning. Strollers and wheelchairs are fine on the sidewalks, though crowds thicken around 11 AM.
