Braum's Affair of the Heart
Braum's Affair of the Heart is the long-running arts, crafts, and gift show that rolls into Tulsa's Expo Square a couple of times a year, and if you've lived here any length of time, you've probably been dragged to it by a friend or your mom — and then found yourself leaving with a bag of handmade soap and a wreath you didn't plan on buying. It fills multiple buildings on the fairgrounds with hundreds of vendors: woodworkers, jewelry makers, kettle corn folks, boutique clothing, holiday decor, metal yard art, and the kind of specialty food samples that constitute lunch if you pace yourself.
It's worth going if you like discovering small makers in person, if you do most of your Christmas shopping in one aggressive afternoon, or if you just want something to do indoors when Tulsa weather can't decide what it's doing. Crowds skew heavily toward friend groups, mother-daughter trips, and multigenerational families, and the energy is more relaxed browse than frantic sale. Check the official Affair of the Heart schedule before you go — show weekends and building assignments at Expo Square shift between the spring and fall editions.
Details & Logistics
Parking at Expo Square is paid and fills up fast on Saturday mid-morning — if you can, come Friday or early Sunday and park closer to the Exchange Center or Pavilion entrances. Wear comfortable shoes; you'll easily walk a few miles between buildings. Bring a tote or a rolling cart if you're serious about shopping, and keep cash on hand even though most vendors take cards. Food trucks and concessions are on site, but lines get long around noon. The venues are accessible with flat floors and elevators where needed, and strollers and wheelchairs navigate the aisles fine outside peak Saturday hours.
